The purpose of this assignment is to prepare you for your workshop, your placement and to understand how protocols guide you on pharmacology and management while you are working as a clinician.

The assignment instructs you to use the QAS Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and Drug Therapy Protocols (DTPs) which are publicly available on the internet. The easiest way to locate them is by google search. For e.g "QAS CPG ACS" or QAS DTP GTN".
Keep your assignment simple and to the treatment, skills and pharmacology of the Advanced Care Paramedic Level 1 (ACP1).  This scope of practice can be located here: www.ambulance.qld.gov.au/docs/clinical/csop.pdf

The required information for this assignment (Causes, assessments, risk factors, management etc.) are located in the QAS CPGs located here: www.ambulance.qld.gov.au/docs/clinical/cpg/CPG_Acute%20coronary%20syndrome.pdf

The pharmacology that the CPGs instruct you to consider are located by searching google for 'QAS (DRUG NAME) GTN DTP'.
Remember to keep it simple, follow the guidelines and only discuss management and pharmacology for your level of ACP1.

Specifically in the 'impacts of mgmt' section, you are required to list all of your managements and discuss how they will benefit the patient. For e.g. if you give GTN in ACS, it will help to dilate the vessels thus allowing more oxygenated blood to flow etc...
